The Principal Event Network Engineer role is a highly technical role for the Event Technology organization. The role has responsibility for the overall technical design, sustainability, and future flexibility of the NASCAR’s infrastructure at Track and Venues. The Principal Event Network Engineer has many duties to perform as part of their role. These include evaluating new technologies; designing new technology solutions and integrating legacy assets; ensuring infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure; planning for future projects, ensuring business requirements translate to IT deliverables and in general ensuring the foundation of their design is sound and supportable for current and future needs. This role also requires to be hands-on in day-to-day technology operations at NASCAR owned Venues ensuring all technology is healthy and available for NASCAR events and other events, including providing technical support to onsite staff.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for testing, setup, configuration, and integration of multiple vendor products into NASCAR's networks which are utilized by NASCAR Teams and OEM partners.
Troubleshoot and analyze transport, networking, systems, and software configurations.
Act as highest-level escalation point for customer issues within the trackside client networks.
Has ability to transfer knowledge to division and field engineering personnel as necessary to insure the timely deployment of new technology.
The individual will also support vendors with product and service requirements based on customer requests. The position requires strong technical skills working knowledge of the Venue technologies.

Percent of Travel required: 80% including weekends.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and a minimum of five (5) years related experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to support remote offices and transport equipment when necessary.
