Skool’s engineering team is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with a passion for engineering systems that lead to better efficiency, higher performance and more consistent delivery. You’ll be a core part in how we deliver Skool.com to millions of users around the world and work closely with the engineering team to help improve scalability, availability and efficiency across our build and deployment pipeline.

This is a 100% remote position. Skool has an office in Los Angeles, CA but works as a distributed team.

What you'll do

1. Partner with engineering to architect and evolve Skool's infrastructure roadmap by driving short and long term strategies around scalability, reliability and observability
2. Build and maintain tools and systems involving software builds, continuous testing, automated deployments, software health monitoring and software releases
3. Oversee and improve the day-to-day operations of Skool’s production infrastructure
4. Investigate and resolve complex infrastructure challenges ensuring high availability and performance across all systems

What we're looking for

1. You have 8+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer (or similar role)
2. You have hands-on experience building distributed systems, APIs, with working knowledge of at least one major Cloud Platform (AWS, GCP, etc) & cloud-based SaaS applications
3. You have expert-level Kubernetes experience including cluster design, CI/CD integration, observability and troubleshooting
4. You have hands-on experience deploying systems using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) such as Terraform and zero-downtime deployment strategies (Rolling, Canary, Blue/Green, etc…)
5. Experience working with GitOps tooling like ArgoCD and Atlantis
6. You have proficiency in network fundamentals such as TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, Subnetting, OSI (layers), Firewalls, Load Balancers and more
7. You have working knowledge of Linux system fundamentals
8. Bonus: You have deep experience optimizing and writing SQL queries
9. Bonus: You have experience writing software using GoLang
