Job Description:

SUMMER INTERNSHIP: This is your opportunity to gain valuable experience in the Environmental Science industry working in the field as a Pool Technician.

HOURS: Mon - Fri, 30 to 40 hours per week. Work shifts typically start at 9 AM, 10 AM (occasionally starting @ 8AM). A small amount of weekend work is required.

FULL-TIME, SEASONAL JOB from mid to late May through August (5/13-5/28 through 8/16-8/30).

This position involves working as a Pool Technician to collect and transport pool samples that are used to support environmental compliance for our clients. Samples are collected and transported in the local area in accordance with standard operating procedures. Vehicles, field sampling equipment and mobile devices are provided by and paid for by Suburban Testing Labs.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Drive locally to various client sites in your company-provided vehicle. At each client site you will collect water samples in accordance with established procedures and timeframes.
  • Demonstrate and promote professional practices including personal safety and safety of others while in the field.
  • Gather and prepare equipment, supplies and documentation for each workday.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure all deadlines are met in an efficient manner. Complete documentation.
  • Represent STL in the field in a positive professional manner. Interact and communicate with clients and co-workers in a professional, effective manner.

Core Competencies

  • Ability to navigate, drive and safely arrive at client sites
  • Proficient in Mobile technology (Microsoft Office, iOS, email, and other software)
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled hours as required to meet client / workload needs
  • Organized, efficient and detail oriented

Physical Requirements

  • The physical activity of this position includes a significant amount of driving. Additionally this position involves balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, and hearing.
  • This work requires exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather elements

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
