About the Role
The Platform Engineer role focuses on designing and operating the infrastructure that supports ad-serving and streaming platforms. This position is responsible for building scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient platform foundations that handle high-throughput, low-latency workloads. The role is critical in enabling engineering teams to deliver high-quality video and advertising experiences, ensuring platform reliability and observability while driving automation and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain composable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns for cloud environments
- Implement idempotent, multi-environment GitOps workflows and Kubernetes reconciliation loops
- Optimize scalability and cost-performance through automation and autoscaling tools
- Develop and maintain platform observability using monitoring and tracing tools
- Collaborate with teams to define Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and capacity models
- Lead incident response, reliability reviews, and promote a culture of reduced operational toil
- Create and manage resilient CI/CD pipelines for deployment and automated rollback
- Support cloud security practices including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation
Requirements
- Experience managing high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems in cloud production
- Expertise operating Kubernetes at scale (preferably EKS) and using IaC tools (CDK, Terraform)
- Proficiency in programming languages for automation (Go, Python, or TypeScript)
- Deep knowledge of GitOps and CI/CD systems such as GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline
- Experience designing monitoring and alerting pipelines to correlate metrics and reduce noise
- Familiarity with AWS network architecture and large-scale streaming or ad-serving workloads
- Ability to analyze and optimize both cost and latency performance
Nice to Have
- Experience with advanced GitOps patterns like Argo CD
- Exposure to observability tools such as Loki or Tempo
- Experience designing or operating scalable, cost-efficient high-throughput data pipelines
Compensation
- CA, NY, WA States: $146,000 — $218,000 USD
- All other US States: $124,000 — $186,000 USD
Base pay is determined by location, skills, and experience. The package includes competitive salary and equity.
