About the Role

Talemexa is seeking a skilled PHP Developer to maintain, enhance, and extend web applications used by its clients. In this role, you will develop new application features, work with MySQL databases, troubleshoot technical issues, strengthen application security, and support reliable software deployments.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of PHP development experience, hands-on experience with Laravel, and a solid understanding of web application architecture. You should be comfortable working with MySQL, JavaScript, REST APIs, and Git while following secure coding practices and maintaining clear technical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications using PHP and frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter.

Build new application features based on business requirements and technical specifications.

Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented PHP code.

Design, develop, and optimize database queries and operations using MySQL.

Develop, integrate, and maintain RESTful APIs to support application functionality and third-party integrations.

Use JavaScript to implement interactive features and improve application usability.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software bugs, performance issues, and application errors.

Strengthen application security by following secure coding practices and addressing potential vulnerabilities.

Support application deployments, configuration changes, and release activities.

Use Git for version control and collaborate with other developers through established development workflows.

Test application functionality and help ensure that new features do not disrupt existing systems.

Maintain technical notes, development documentation, and records of important application changes.

Collaborate with project managers, designers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver development requirements.

Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

Qualifications and Experience

2–5 years of professional experience in PHP development.

Strong understanding of PHP programming and web application development.

Hands-on experience with the Laravel framework; familiarity with CodeIgniter is beneficial.

Practical experience working with MySQL databases, SQL queries, and database relationships.

Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for web application development.

Experience developing and integrating REST APIs.

Familiarity with Git and version control practices.

Understanding of web security fundamentals, including input validation, authentication, authorization, and secure data handling.

Ability to debug application issues and optimize code and database performance.

Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a development team.
