Overview

We are looking for a skilled Front End Developer / Designer for a parallax project, to bring designs to life and create visually compelling, high-performing web experiences for our client. This role involves translating design concepts into responsive, interactive user interfaces while ensuring seamless usability. You will collaborate closely with the Creative Director and digital design team to blend aesthetics with functionality across web and mobile projects.

***Make sure you can provide at least two active samples of your work as it relates to this job: live sites, not just a Git page. Must have real parallax samples live on the web.

Type: Remote Contract

Duration: 3 weeks expected

Pay: $50 - $60/hr

Parallax Designer / Developer Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement visually engaging, high-quality front-end code for web and mobile interfaces.
2. Translate Figma designs into functional, interactive experiences using Astro and other front-end technologies.
3. Ensure a seamless balance between usability, accessibility, and design aesthetics.
4. Collaborate with designers and stakeholders to refine the user experience.
5. Optimize applications for speed, performance, and scalability.
6. Work with various CMS platforms to integrate dynamic content.
7. Utilize Jira for task management and project tracking.
8. Maintain best practices in front-end development, including clean, maintainable code.
9. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Parallax Designer / Developer Requirements

1. 5+ years of front-end development experience with a strong portfolio of visually impressive web projects and live parallax samples.
2. Expertise in Parallax visual design execution—this is a key focus of the role.
3. Proficiency with Astro for front-end development is preferred but not a deal breaker.
4. Experience using Figma for design implementation.
5. Familiarity with Jira for workflow management.
6. Strong understanding of responsive design principles and ability to match UI to design specs.
7. Experience working with various CMS platforms.
8. Deep knowledge of coding best practices, object-oriented principles, and performance optimization.
9. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and self-motivation.
10. Ability to proactively address issues and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
11. A strong portfolio of visually striking web development projects to show.
12. Hands-on experience with Astro, Figma, and Jira.
