This is a part-time remote/work from home position, up to 20 hours per week. Work on weekends, especially on Sundays is required on a weekly basis for this position. The rate of pay is $18 per hour as an independent contractor with the potential to become an employee over time. A stable high speed internet connection without interruption is required for this role. Knowledge of Tibetan Buddhism and Vajrayana is required for this role. Job Summary

The position covers two main areas:

  • Providing moderation and live streaming technical support for Lama Live!, with Lama Tsultrim, other Tara Mandala teachers and special guests as requested.
  • Providing technical support for Lama Tsultrim’s other Dharma Talks when offered.
  • Collaborates with Communications and Wisdom Rising Podcast team to ensure selection and Lama Live episodes for upcoming podcasts.

The Lama Live! Livestream Coordinator reports to the Executive Director. The work-hour load per week for this position is 20 hours based on the specific needs of the programs and while fulfilling the routine administrative requirements such as participating in one to two meetings per week.

The Executive Director will be responsible for scheduling hours week to week for this position. The Lama Live! Livestream Coordinator will work closely and with the guidance of the Communications Manager. To fulfill this position, the person must have with speeds of 20Mbps/20Mbps (upload/download), access to a personal computer, a suitable space for on-screen moderation, and the willingness to acquire equipment if needed to improve sound and video quality.

Essential Job Duties and Areas of Responsibility

  • Meets with the Communications Team weekly to discuss and prepare for coordination, planning, and implementation.
  • Collaborates with Lama Tsultrim, Tara Mandala teachers, and special guests to plan and schedule presence in upcoming Lama Live! Events.
  • Provides live moderation and logistical support during Lama Live! live webcasts, meeting with teachers and special guests in advance of the webcast to plan and prepare relevant assets.
  • Works varying days and times, based on coordination and planning meetings scheduled with other Tara Mandala personnel. Work on the weekend, especially on Sunday is required on a weekly basis.
  • Schedules pre-planned livestreams on Facebook and YouTube, setting up a broadcast studio on the streaming platform with an announcement post on social media pages.
  • Drafts and schedules social media announcements for the upcoming livestream and is ready to share extra social media posts if requested by the teacher on the day of livestream.
  • Develops the opening and closing script for the livestream, incorporating essential elements such as the EDI statement, a teacher's bio, program promotion, podcast announcement, or any additional information requested by a teacher or supervisor.
  • Prepares and acquires all relevant links ready in advance of the livestream to support a teacher during the session.
  • Coordinates with Tara Mandala’s Graphic Designer in advance to design on-screen graphics for the livestream, and is prepared to independently create any last-minute banner upon request from a teacher when needed.
  • Maintains communications via WhatsApp on a mobile phone with teachers and special guests for last-minute requests or troubleshooting ahead of the livestream.
  • Crafts a post-event description with precise timestamps and shares it on Facebook and YouTube at the conclusion of the livestream.
  • Maintains up-to-date viewership numbers and analytics for each livestream.
  • Prepares a Recording Index for archival purposes.
  • Downloads video and audio recordings for upload into the final archival platform within Tara Mandala.
  • Coordinate with the Wisdom Rising Podcast team to facilitate the production and dissemination of weekly Wisdom Rising Podcast.
  • Send selected episodes for audio processing and listen to processed episodes for any adjustments or additional edits.
  • Select episodes of Lama Live to be converted into Wisdom Rising Podcast episodes.
  • Write title, description, and bios for each Wisdom Rising Podcast episode.
  • Coordinates with the Communications Team for the promotion of Lama Live and Wisdom Rising Podcast.

Required Education, Skills & Competencies

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and position.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work alone and as a team.
  • Thorough understanding of hospitality and program event planning and execution
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with StreamYard, Facebook/Social Media/YouTube platforms, Google Suite, Zoom, video editing and other related software.

Other Requirements

  • Has a dedicated Buddhist practice, including a daily practice.
  • Strong connection to the lineages at Tara Mandala and Lama Tsultrim Allione’s work preferred.
  • Have excitement about being part of emerging Dharma in the West.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated ability to work in an organization professionally while upholding Buddhist values and conduct.
  • Upholds Tara Mandala Leadership Values and Code of Conduct, which is available for review

Physical Requirements of Position

● Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

● Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
