Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and proactive Handyman to maintain and improve our preschool facility. The ideal candidate will be capable of handling a variety of tasks including installing security cameras, repairing building infrastructure, assembling furniture, and addressing plumbing and appliance issues. The role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong sense of safety, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working in an environment with young children and be mindful of creating a safe, secure, and welcoming space for them.

**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Install, maintain, and repair a variety of equipment and fixtures, including security cameras, furniture, and playground structures.
2. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on plumbing systems, electrical fixtures, and appliances.
3. Conduct regular maintenance of building infrastructure, including painting, carpentry, and other tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for children.
4. Respond quickly to emergency situations or breakdowns, ensuring minimal disruption to the school's operations.
5. Adhere to all preschool safety policies and protocols, and actively contribute to a secure environment for staff, children, and visitors.
6. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and maintenance tasks.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely.

**Qualifications:**

  • Proven experience as a handyman or in a similar role with a broad skill set in maintenance, repairs, and building systems.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to interact positively with staff, children, and parents.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification from a vocational school or trade certification is a plus.
  • A background check and clearance to work in an environment with children are mandatory.
