Support the engineering team by providing high level testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and sonar systems hardware. Support Depot & Field efforts and related systems and support hardware in the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL).

Responsibilities

• Assembly, testing, trouble-shooting, repair of deliverable & experimental systems, electromechanical components which could range from assemblies that require aptitude, endurance and dexterity for assembly to assemblies that reach up to 100 lbs. Organize & maintain systems and support gear.
• Assist senior staff with systems integration projects for high frequency sonar systems. Assist with training junior staff as appropriate.
• Creation & modification of engineering design documents. Maintaining database for component and assembly tracking.
• Field and local in-water testing support. Shipping & Logistics.
• Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• HS/7 years of related experience
• Electronic circuit troubleshooting & repair.
• Miniature & surface mount soldering.
• Experience troubleshooting and maintenance of navigation and radar systems, radio transceivers & antennas, marine/offshore power and communication systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with sensitive and confidential information, maintain a professional demeanor, work as a team member with and without daily supervision, work several overlapping projects over a short period of time, ability to work within an environment with rapidly changing priorities, and effectively communicate with all groups of clients.
• Soldering experience including surface mount components.
• Proficiency with various operating systems; Windows, Linux.
• Experience with computer hardware and networking.
• Demonstrated ability to interface with vendors, pcb fabrication, etc. to procure components.
• Able to work under pressure and accept supervision.
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency reading schematics, electrical component symbols & functions. Experience in pcb design, specification, fabrication.
• High level experience testing & troubleshooting power, analog, and digital circuitry.
• Experience using electronic assembly and diagnostic equipment including soldering equipment, oscilloscopes and multimeter.
• Ability to manage multiple overlapping projects & related tasking.
• Strong aptitude for time and resource management
