As a Network Engineer you will work from specifications to design, implement and document new and existing LAN, WAN, WLAN and Private 5G deployments. You will help monitor, manage, troubleshoot and upgrade networking devices, ensuring maximum throughput and uptime for users and devices of new and existing network infrastructure.

 

What You Will Do

 

  • Installs, upgrades and maintains network routing and switching hardware and software.
  • Installs, upgrades and maintains wireless networking infrastructure and management software.
  • Performs day-to-day system administrative functions in an efficient manner.
  • Installs and monitors software systems, hardware and peripherals to ensure operation in accordance with specifications.
  • Evaluates interfaces among hardware, software, operational and performance requirements.
  • Installs, configures and maintains 3rd party network solutions to support the management of the operating systems and hardware.
  • Participates in the development of training manuals for the use of new or modified equipment, operating systems and software.
  • Confers with customer/users regarding network, operating system and software maintenance.
  • Troubleshoots technology problems and coordinates resolution with appropriate groups, including vendors.
  • Participates in department and interdepartmental project teams and may work cross-functionally to improve processes within the organization.
  • Participates in the preparation of proposals and recommendations for management and users.
  • Applies current technology or researches and acquires new technical knowledge to complete moderate to complex projects and may advise others on current issues and designs.
  • Performs upgrades of network hardware and software.
  • Test and configure hardware and software in labs for evaluation and proof of concept work.
  • Designs and implements testing methodology; prepares and maintains documentation.
  • Reviews and defines work plans and is expected to meet budget and schedule commitments.
  • Informs and take direction for solutions on project issues.
  • Functions as a liaison with users and management.
  • Carries on-call pager during predefined rotation.
  • Communicate project status reporting to team and manager.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
  • Installation of network hardware in high reach areas requiring boom of scissor lift operation.

What You Will Need

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, MIS, Mathematics, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences, Economics, or Physics plus 1 year of information systems experience; OR Bachelor's degree plus 2 years information systems experience reflecting increasing levels of experience; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 6 years of information systems experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Minimum Cisco CCNA Certification or higher.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Cisco LAN and WAN technologies.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience installing, maintaining and troubleshooting Aruba IAP and controller-based wireless networks.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in capturing and analyzing network packet traces to aid in root cause analysis using Omnipeek, Wireshark, Opnet, etc.).
  • Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime when necessary.
  • Required to participate in on-call rotation for remote or on-site afterhours work.
  • Required to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Required to climb and work on a 15 foot ladder.
  • Required to become boom and scissor lift certified and occasionally work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Required to travel domestically & internationally.
  • Experience in pulling, terminating and troubleshooting network cabling.
  • Intermediate MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills.
  • Intermediate AutoCAD and Visio skills.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of development toolset, development processes, and Quality Assurance methodologies.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to be onsite within 60 minutes after being contacted.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.
  • Required to be 18 years or older. This may be in addition to other age requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

 

What Will Set You Apart

  • Possess current Cisco CCNA Certification or higher.
  • Experience with PAN Firewalls, including VPN and B2B terminations.
  • Experience with OPManager.
  • Experience with F5 Load Balancers.
  • Experience with Aruba SD-WAN technologies.
  • Experience with Aruba and Cisco Switching
  • Experience with Service Now.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with manufacturing networks (ie. SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, etc..)
  • Experience reading, analyzing and interpreting general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Experience writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience effectively presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Experience interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Experience performing work that is difficult in nature, requiring frequent evaluation, originality or ingenuity.
  • Experience resolving conflict by creating a win-win situation.

Compensation

 

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $38.03/hr - $57.07/hr
  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
