What You'll Do

In this position you will be responsible for deploying, administering, maintaining, and improving the design and security posture of a mission critical SATCOM global Network. Your primary duties will include performing routine and continuous updates, security patches and bug fixes of the operating systems, software, firmware, and configurations of multiple test and production systems, deploying them to our Networking and Linux devices, ensuring there are no adverse effects to those systems, and documenting these updates. Part of your responsibilities will include supporting our software, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot and analyze network issues in multiple distributed systems. Your job duties will include maintaining, updating, and creating configuration management automation scripts and playbooks to deploy security updates. You will be working with software, system, network, and test engineers to integrate, test, and deploy automation tools for system and network administration.

The day-to-day

Each day will range across a variety of tasks, whether it's developing and applying updates to our systems, troubleshooting issues in the environment, or supporting our fellow development, operations, and test/integration team members with your knowledge and expertise to accomplish the mission before us.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Information Technology or a related field of study required, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience working with sophisticated and secure computer networks and operating systems.
• Good understanding of Network design, infrastructure, software, and hardware components.
• Strong knowledge in networking fundamentals of routing, switching, firewalling, and encryption.
• Ability to administer, configure and update Network infrastructure devices including Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls (ASA and FPS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS, particularly Firepower Services modules and Firepower Management Centers (FMC)).
• Good experience with Linux operating system administration and configuration management, including users, filesystems, and operating system networking
• Strong experience with Information Assurance implementations and mitigations, particularly in operating system and network system security
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources.
• Strong oral and written communications skills. Must have the ability to work with all levels of technical staff within and outside the organization including technicians, engineers, developers, upper management, and customers.
• Must be detail-oriented and have good documentation skills, including experience with MS Visio or Draw.io
• Must be a US Citizen, and able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
   

What Will Help You On The Job

• Relevant work experience using, developing, and testing high-level python scripts.
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification
• Work experience with configuration management and test automation development using industry standard frameworks such as Puppet, Ansible, Robot, etc.…
• CI/CD software development tools (pref. Jenkins, GitHub, etc.)
• Work experience with Fortinet firewalls.
• Work experience with identity management solutions including Cisco Identity Service Engines (ISE) or Aruba ClearPass.
• Work experience with active directory administration and integration
• Work experience testing and integrating software, servers, operating systems, virtual machines.
• Work experience with satellite communication systems.
• Active Secret Clearance.
   

Salary range

$108,100.00 - $178,300.00 / annually
