Main Purpose of Job:

The Production Technician will function as a floor director, teleprompter, camera and robotic camera operator. The incumbent will assist the lighting director in the completion of lighting for a production. The position’s responsibilities include assisting with lighting and equipment activities in the studio and on location. The Production Technician programs and operates studio lighting boards that support the successful completion of a broadcast. The position will assist the video technicians with the setup of studio and field cameras. This is a Special Appointment position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in the field of television or film as part of a production team.

Note:

Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree in media, film, communications, journalism, or related field of study and one (1) year of experience in the field of television or film as part of a production team for the required education and experience.
