Traveling Merchandiser – 1099 Independent Contractor
Location: Nationwide (travel required across U.S. states)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation: Up to $1,200/week to start, with contract renegotiation potential after the first project based on performance

As a Traveling Merchandiser, you will work with a dynamic team to execute in-store merchandising, set planograms, rotate inventory, and help set up or tear down displays across various locations throughout the United States. This is not a stationary retail role. You will be on the move every 4 to 6 weeks, with roughly 90% of the year consisting of back-to-back assignments in states like Washington, Illinois, Michigan, New York, and more. This role requires significant physical and mental effort, the ability to work independently, and a strong desire to grow with a company that rewards dedication and hard work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creatively merchandise products to maximize shelf and display impact
- Execute detailed planograms and ensure accurate product placement
- Set up and tear down fixtures and promotional displays
- Rotate, replenish, and organize inventory, removing outdated items
- Maintain clean, organized backroom and shelf areas
- Apply branding principles consistently across merchandising tasks
- Communicate effectively with project leads and team members
- Work efficiently and independently after receiving initial guidance
- Maintain high quality and accuracy standards throughout the project lifecycle
Job Requirements:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
- Current auto insurance and ability to travel between job sites
- Active cell phone and email access for communication and coordination
- Basic tool kit required (tape measure, screwdrivers, box cutter, pen, Sharpie, painter’s tape)
- Ability to lift 30+ pounds regularly and work on your feet for 9+ hours per day
- Physical and mental stamina to handle repetitive lifting, bending, walking, and long workdays
- Adaptability to work in varying conditions and temperatures depending on location and season
- Must be able to follow directions, maintain composure under pressure, and execute tasks with precision
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
- Positive attitude, willingness to be coached, and a desire to grow into leadership roles
- Ability to travel frequently and live/work in different cities or states every 4–6 weeks
- Must be comfortable managing own travel, gas, and lodging expenses as a 1099 contractor
