Mercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to train frontier models on high-quality healthcare reasoning data. We're expanding our Medical Expert network across the following specialties:

1. Internal Medicine
2. Emergency Medicine
3. Psychiatry
4. Hematology / Oncology
5. Radiology
6. Cardiology

As a Medical Expert, you'll design realistic clinical scenarios, evaluate model outputs against evidence-based standards, and help shape how the next generation of AI reasons about patient care.What You'll Do

1. Design clinically realistic prompts and scenarios drawn from your specialty (diagnostic reasoning, treatment planning, risk stratification, guideline concordance)
2. Write "golden" reference responses at attending-level quality
3. Grade AI-generated responses against structured rubrics
4. Provide written feedback the research team uses to improve model behavior
5. Participate in weekly office hours and specialty calibration sessions

Who You Are

1. Attending Physicians: Must be board certified with current, active, unrestricted medical license
2. Resident physicians: Must be in final year of residency (recent graduates must be board-eligible)
3. Fellows: Must be board-certified/board-eligible in primary specialty and have current active, unrestricted, medical license.

Rates

Rates are set per specialty and seniority tier, benchmarked to Mercor. Expect $130–$300/hr payabledepending on specialty and level of training. Your specific rate will be confirmed in your offer.

Engagement

1. Remote, 100% asynchronous
2. 20 hrs/wk default (can be raised after onboarding based on demand)
3. Paid weekly via Mercor
4. Expected start: Monday 4/27/2026
5. Duration: ongoing, reviewed monthly

Before Your First Task

You'll receive an onboarding doc and a calendar invite for Onboarding Office Hours after you accept.

Contract and Payment Terms

1. You will be engaged as an independent contractor.
2. This is a fully remote role that can be completed on your own schedule.
3. Projects can be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
4. Your work at Mercor will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
5. Payments are weekly on Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
