Job Description:

In this role you will specify and implement processes and procedures that enhance product quality, reduce cost, increase plant efficiency, and facilitates technology transfer.

 

What will I do?

  • Analyze and measure complex data during prototype and validation runs on new products
  • Compile data into accurate and easily understandable reporting and provide recommendations to various internal business groups for product quality and customer-facing product packaging, labeling, marketing, etc.
  • Update formulas & run rates for accurate system data
  • Perform statistical analyses and design of experiments, work with operational teams to improve equipment up-times and product quality and outputs; adjust documented yields as necessary
  • Coach employees in operational and/or production areas on how to properly use equipment
  • Partner with Research and Development team on new product introductions that utilize similar or existing processes and/or equipment
  • Independently support business unit objectives for a single area, self-directed once provided with goals
  • Review past and current operational trends to predict future capabilities & utilization rates of process lines; deliver projects that support operational improvements
  • Calculate labor costs and identify quality control gaps to influence changes resulting in efficient processes
  • Lead employee safety improvements through analysis of root cause factors and proactively partner with operations to eliminate hazards

 

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • Skillful communication

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Industrial, Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Lean Six Sigma – Green Belt Certified
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment and/or an FDA regulated environment or related experience
  • Skilled in automation equipment, robotics, SolidWorks, Autodesk AutoCAD
