The Manager Visual Equity & Design is responsible for driving and elevating how our brands come to life in package design. In this role, you will manage the full design process from brief to concept to execution to production and printing. We are looking for leaders that are highly creative, can serve as a design subject matter expert, have experience formulating and executing design strategy, are familiar with consumer research techniques, and bring a deep understanding of all areas of design development.

In this role, you will be a trusted partner for the Campbell Snacks Marketing teams and provide vision, guidance, and problem-solving thought leadership to create best-in-class design solutions that drive sales and build brand equity for multiple brands within the Campbell Snacks portfolio.

Principle Accountabilities
1. Design & Creative Strategy: 50%
o Effectively define and bring-to-life brand and portfolio design strategies, in collaboration with external creative partners.
o Persuasively present and recommend design solutions; effectively articulate creative ideas with strong consumer & brand-centric rationale to support direction.
o Serve on the leadership teams of the brands you support and proactively participate in business planning.
o Actively engage in research as a tool to deliver more effective design and utilize insights to fuel creative development.
o Actively follow design & marketplace trends and use in-market experiences to develop creative strategies and solutions, anticipating competitive activities based on a deep and ongoing understanding of direct and indirect competitive categories.
2. Project Management and Execution: 50%
o Lead the development of all package design creative briefs, effectively translating business needs/challenges into clear, focused objectives that design must address.
o Proactively lead the design development process (including sandboxing, planning, design, photography, production & printing), customizing project activities to maximize resources and best meet specific business needs.
o Work seamlessly with the Project Management support team to effectively manage timelines/schedules and project details while maintaining strict budgetary controls for the total business and all financial details within assigned projects.
o Oversee the development and maintenance of detailed style guides for assigned brands, and collaborate with key partners to ensure equity compliance and comprehensive management of brand design assets.
o Proactively share best practices, design thinking, and insights with Marketing partners, highlighting opportunities and risks and proposing new ideas that drive business success.


Job Specifications

  • 5 -10 years+ CPG package design experience - food & beverage experience preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
  • Balance of strong strategic thinking and flawless execution
  • Functional design & print knowledge/expertise: solid understanding of the creative, photographic and pre-press processes; full understanding of print production methods and characteristics; strong familiarity with integration between graphic & structural design requirements and fluent in application of packaging regulations.
  • Incredible project management: detail-oriented, highly organized, timely and fiscally responsible.
  • Passionate design advocate: constant drive to deliver design excellence, a sophisticated creative eye, and an inventive mindset with a thirst to investigate, innovate, and discover.
  • Business-minded: approaches work and decisions as a businessperson, always mindful of the potential impact to the business - top & bottom line.
  • Natural collaborator: able to build strong relationships, encourage cross functional alignment & coordination and ensure open communication with internal & external partners.
  • Proactive, with strong independent drive and the ability to demonstrate confidence and autonomy in decision making.
  • Strong understanding of research techniques and their application in the Package Design process.
  • Demonstrates an ownership mindset and personal accountability for the quality of work created.
  • Excellent communication skills - written & verbal.


Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$85,900.00 - $158,900.00

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
