Remote Mainframe System Programmer Job with Akkodis!

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Mainframe System Programmer to help maintain existing Mainframe Systems as well as migrate customer systems via tape save/restore or software replication. This person will also expand our existing customer's environments, ensure proper handling of system backups and react in a break/fix capacity to escalate technical issues that compromise system operability and functionality. Pay/Salary Range: $115,000/year to $150,000/year. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Experience configuring TCP/IP and associated servers in an IPV4 environment (IPv6 desired)
2. Familiarity with Physical and Virtual tape library configuration and implementation
3. OS Upgrades, PTF Deployment and software installation
4. z/OS Concepts (JES2, SDSF, TSO, RACF, HCD/IODF, SMP/E)
5. Communication Concepts (VTAM, TCP/IP)
6. Storage Management (SMS, HSM, DFDSS, VSAM, IDCAMS, ICF Catalogs)
7. z/OS Subsystems (JES2, WLM, OMVS/USS, SMF/RMF, RACF, ASM, GRS)
8. Major Subsystems (CICS, IMS, DB2, MQ Series)
9. Self-motivated and able to work independently
