Job Description:

Role and Responsibilities
The Librarian will manage Nightingale College's online library.

  • Coordinates access and maintenance of the library's licensed digital resources, including subscriptions to journals, tasks related to contracts, implementation, collaborator support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of resources.
  • Performs professional library work in collection development, including acquisition, evaluation, selection, and elimination of digital and print library materials.
  • Collects, maintains, and reports digital resources, provides evidence-based research, and provides statistical data to support data driven decision making.
  • Trains new faculty, staff, and learners on the electronic library resources, products, and services.
  • Supports learner development in library use, research, writing, formatting, and citations through tutoring, paper reviews, webinars, and resource development.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to support the development of engaging learning modules for learners, faculty, and staff.
  • Develops videos, instructional materials, and other resources for the online library to facilitate best practices and critical thinking for learners and collaborators.
  • Keeps informed of professional and technological developments through participation in a professional organization, workshops, continuing education courses, and reading professional materials.
  • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Library or Information Science is required.
  • Demonstrated five years of experience as a Librarian in a virtual environment is required.
  • Demonstrated experience providing virtual reference services using chat tools, email, and videoconferencing software is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of library information technology, systems, products, and delivery technologies is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software systems and tools and web-based communication, information, and collaboration tools is required.


This position is required to attend new employee orientation in person in Salt Lake City, Utah. All travel and lodging accommodations will be paid for by the organization.
