motivated individual to join the team as a Paralegal Intern. This part-time position will work with the Legal Services Manager. Our ideal candidate would be pursuing a paralegal certificate or a college student considering a career in the legal field of law school. This internship will introduce you to the basics of real estate law. You will be an active participant of the legal team as they work through land and building transactions as well as tenant leases and vendor contracts.

Essential Duties:
Under the guidance of the Legal Services Manager:

Real Estate Closing

• Prepare checklists for real estate and financing transactions.
• Read Purchase and Sale Agreements to prepare document abstracts and distil critical dates.
• Assist in the review of title and survey documents as needed.
• Draft form documents related to real estate transactions.
• Create master closing books to include all transaction documents and final title policy.

Legal Research

• Conduct property research including ownership, acreage, real estate tax information, assessments, and zoning codes.

Organizational and Administrative Duties :

• File and organizational management.
• Maintain organizational and procedural protocols as set forth by the departments and manage such procedures to ensure proper and diligent usage.
• Support development and legal team in furtherance of completing active projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
The position will report directly to the Legal Services Manager. The following describes the ideal experience and attributes a successful candidate will offer:

• Paralegal certificate in process or college student considering a career in the legal field preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands
