Position Summary

Omnicare, a CVS Health Company is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to be a key advisor among a team of fellow architects, development leads, business stakeholders, and project leads.

This individual will consult with CVS Health and Omnicare Business and Technology Leaders and drive various solution ideations toward deliverables. This will occur while helping to establish standards and/or ensuring that our published standards are well-shared and followed.

This individual will also contribute to and collaborate on various initiatives including cost savings, capital management, annual planning, resource-planning and process improvement.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

 

  • Facilitating and participating in meetings and communications surrounding solution vision, design, estimating, development, gathering metrics, quality assurance, troubleshooting, implementation, and outcome study activities.
  • Will most often oversee solution initiatives from inception to implementation.
  • Includes meetings and communications involving customers (internal and external) as well as any outside vendors.
  • Composing architectural recommendations and solution design artifacts that follow CVS enterprise format and guidelines.
  • Create and refine high-quality visualizations of solution process and flow that can be explained fluently to both the business and IT.
  • Create and refine solution design artifacts that follow CVS artifact standards.
  • Providing high-level estimates for project opportunities being considered during the “funding” cycle, as well as detailed work estimates for any projects approved to proceed.

 


  • Preferred location will be in EST or CST time zones.


Required Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to ideate solutions that are sufficient and feasible to both the business leads and the involved IT group participants.
  • These skills are likewise required to navigate constructive debate, solution advocacy, accountability circumstances, and trade-off discussions surrounding solution approaches and alternatives.
  • 8+ years of experience in solutions and application architecture
  • 3+ years of leadership / technical advisory experience
  • “Oversight-capable” in some of the following areas: Azure, TIBCO Business Works/EMS and associated tools, IBM mainframe or midrange
  • 2+ years of leadership oversight or hands-on experience in at least half of the following areas: Azure cloud technology, Java or .NET; Spring; REST Client/ SOAP UI, XML; JSON, basic networking understanding (routing, switching, firewalls, ADCs/LBs, DNS), database (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Cosmos, Hadoop, Redis) and data management technologies, coding (.NET, Java, Node.js), deployment orchestration tooling (Terraform, ARM, or similar), development frameworks (.NET, Spring, Angular, React), observability (metrics, events, logs, traces), integration layers (queues, event buses, streams, APIs), reporting capabilities (Power BI and Power Platform), application migration to cloud or containers with high levels of resiliency and geographic resiliency.

 


Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies as well as Waterfall methodologies
  • 4+ years of experience working in a regulated industry, including success in a technical management role in the healthcare, finance, or related highly regulated industry.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

 

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

 

$115,000.00 - $230,000.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
