Lead iOS Engineer (AI-Forward)

📍US Remote (CT or ET only)

💰$150k–$170k (flexible for the right profile)

The Opportunity:

We’re building the next generation of mobile applications in highly regulated industries (Aviation, Defence, Rail) — where performance, reliability, and precision matter.

But this isn’t a typical iOS role.

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Senior iOS Engineer who is already embracing AI-assisted development and wants to help shape how modern engineering teams operate.

This is the role:

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Build, ship, and maintain production iOS applications using Swift and Objective-C
2. Lead development of new features with a focus on performance, stability, and scalability
3. Work closely with product, design, and QA to shape and deliver high-impact features
4. Actively leverage AI tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT, Augment) to improve development workflows
5. Champion modern engineering practices, including CI/CD, testing, and code quality
6. Contribute to technical direction and influence decisions across teams
7. Mentor engineers and raise the bar across the team

What We’re Looking For:

Core iOS Experience

1. Strong commercial experience with Swift and Objective-C
2. Deep understanding of UIKit, app lifecycle, and iOS architecture
3. Experience shipping and supporting live App Store applications
4. Strong debugging, performance optimisation, and profiling (Instruments)

AI-Forward Mindset (This is key)

1. Actively using AI tools in your day-to-day development workflow
2. Able to demonstrate how AI has improved your speed, quality, or output
3. Curious and opinionated about how AI is changing software development
4. Comfortable introducing new tools or ways of working to a team

Influence & Ownership

1. Confident working with product and cross-functional teams
2. Able to challenge ideas and influence decisions, not just execute
3. Demonstrated ownership beyond individual tasks
4. Clear potential to grow into a technical leadership role
