JOB DESCRIPTION:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. The Lead DevOps Engineer (Database experience) is part of the Aurora PostgreSQL Database team and responsibilities include:
2. Develop and manage Infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform (TFE) for automated provisioning and configuration of database environments
3. Create and manage Python scripts, Ansible playbooks, Chef cookbooks and AWS SSM Documents to automate routine database management tasks
4. Create, maintain, and optimize the database automation frameworks and processes
5. Manage CICD pipelines, primarily using Jenkins or Gitlab runners within Gitlab CI/CD
6. Collaborate with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration of database automation with CI/CD pipelines
7. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize database automation processes to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
8. Develop standards and procedures for all aspects of Data Platforms in the Cloud
9. Contribute to Cloud strategy discussions and decisions on overall Cloud design and best approach for implementing Cloud Data solutions
10. Stay ahead of industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the automation process
11. Adhere to best practices on Incident, Problem and Change management
12. Lead projects independently with minimal guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 6-8 years of related experience
2. Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience.
3. Proficient in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform
4. Hands on experience with automation tools like Ansible, Chef, and AWS SSM Documents
5. Strong proficiency in developing scripts with Python
6. Hands on experience with CICD Pipelines (Jenkins, Gitlab etc)
7. Experience with Groovy is a plus
8. Solid understanding of operating systems (Unix / Linux)
9. Solid Understanding of AWS Cloud architecture
10. Knowledge of AWS Aurora Postgres and Oracle Database
11. Experience automating Database provisioning in AWS Cloud environment
12. Able to handle tasks and projects independently with minimum guidance and directions
13. Should be able to research, design, document and implement new automation solutions independently
14. Demonstrated ability to work in a sophisticated environment to determine business and customer needs and provide the best solution needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $120,000.00 per year
