Job Description:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and implementation, along with strong technical skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As a Landscape Architect at First Forty Feet you will play a key role in shaping the natural and built environments of cities, ensuring that urban spaces are both functional and inspiring.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement landscape designs for a variety of projects, including civic plazas, streetscapes, urban parks, and play experiences.

· Conduct site analysis and assess the potential impact on people and the environment.

· Create detailed drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD and other design software.

· Collaborate with our architectural and urban design team to develop strong relationships with the built form.

· Collaborate with engineers, and other subconsultants to integrate landscape designs into overall project plans.

· Oversee project management from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, design management, documentation, and construction oversight.

· Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards (experience in Washington is a bonus).

· Select appropriate materials and plant palettes, considering sustainability, climate action, resiliency, and maintenance requirements.

· Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure project goals and objectives are met.

· Be comfortable participating in our creative community engagements and outreach activities.

· Show an interest in tactical urban design interventions and building full-scale mockups of design work.

· Stay current with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in landscape architecture.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field.

· Professional licensure.

· 4-8 years of professional experience.

· Proven experience in landscape architecture, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of project types and design work.

· Proficiency in CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, and other relevant design software. (ArcGIS, Rhino, Enscape, and Adobe After Effects is a bonus)

· Excellent visual, written, and verbal communication skills.

· Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

· Knowledge of sustainable design practices and principles. (knowledge of Cradle-to-Cradle and the concept of Circular Economy is a bonus)

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

· Detail-oriented with a strong sense of creativity and innovation.
