The Department of Neuroscience and the Center for Advanced Pain Studies at UT Dallas invite applications for a Laboratory Technician to join the Yousuf Lab. This position will support NIH‑funded research focused on understanding the mechanisms underlying chronic pain and developing potential treatments using preclinical models.
The Laboratory Technician will work extensively with rodent models, including conducting behavioral assays, performing surgeries, and completing tissue dissections. The role also involves cell culture work, with an emphasis on generating and maintaining primary cultures from rodent and human dorsal root ganglia.
Additional responsibilities include performing standard molecular biology techniques such as Western blotting, PCR, immunohistochemistry, and/or microscopy. Experience with bioinformatics or computational tools applied to biological research is not required but is highly desirable.
Minimum Education and Experience
Associate degree with a minimum of two years hands on experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
