The Junior Release Train Engineer (Jr RTE) is a hands-on delivery leader responsible for directly supporting Agile teams at the team level while enabling cross-team coordination and flow.
In Concorde’s delivery context—where scale does not justify a fully detached, “hands‑off” Release Train Engineer—this role intentionally blends Scrum Master execution, Lean‑Agile flow management, and emerging RTE capabilities.
This is not a passive coaching role. The Jr RTE rolls up their sleeves, facilitates daily execution, removes impediments, and actively improves how work flows from idea to delivery. They operate inside the team, while maintaining systems thinking beyond the team.

Core Responsibilities
Team-Level Agile Execution (Primary Focus)
The Jr RTE acts as the day-to-day Agile leader for one or more teams, performing responsibilities commonly associated with a Scrum Master, while remaining framework‑agnostic.
Success looks like: The team delivers more predictably because someone is actively helping the work move.
Flow & Delivery Management (Beyond Scrum)
Unlike a traditional Scrum Master, the Jr RTE is not limited to Scrum mechanics.
Cross-Team & Emerging ART Support (Secondary Focus)
While embedded with teams, the Jr RTE also begins to think at the system level.
