MSG Sphere Studios is looking for Compositors to join a groundbreaking post-production department based in Los Angeles. As the content delivery team for the MSG Sphere projects, we strive to deliver world-class content at an unprecedented scale on the largest LED screens ever made.

Compositors will develop groundbreaking techniques to stitch, clean up, and integrate VFX into high frame-rate content at extremely large resolutions. VFX skills desired would include rotoscoping, 3d tracking, painting, object removal, retiming, upscaling, and transcoding. An enthusiasm for working with others to solve problems and develop innovative solutions to unique creative demands is essential.

Specific Functions/Activities Summary:

• Assist with plate breakout from our specialized high-resolution capture system, for delivery to external vendors and/or internal use.
• Assist with the delivery of images through a unique pipeline to our one-of-a-kind display system.
• Follow all established technical approaches and provided compositing and delivery templates to complete all 2D work in a way that adheres to the defined processes and meets the required quality.
• Assist in the establishment and refinement of pipeline and protocols for working, monitoring, reviewing, and delivering content that meets Sphere’s color and resolution requirements.
• Work closely between the editorial and visual effects departments to ensure that images meet the technical requirements for production and delivery.
• Take direction from the Compositing Supervisor and work with the other Compositors and digital artists on other teams to maintain team cohesion and a collaborative working environment.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency equivalent to 2+ years of experience working as VFX compositor and/or roto/paint/tracking artist.
• Nuke experience required. Additional experience with other professional level software combined with an eagerness to learn will be considered.
• Experience stitching for VR, and/or working with large formats a plus.
• An expressed interest in new technology and innovation.
• Positive attitude and eagerness for self driven success.
