A leading home improvement retail enterprise is seeking a skilled and creative Instructional Designer for a 3-month remote contract. The successful candidate will assist in updating existing and developing new onboarding modules for Field Pro Sales associates. This role requires a strong background in writing, video visual design, project management, and problem-solving, along with proficiency in video editing tools, Articulate, and Workday.

Location: REMOTE

Hours: 40 hours/week

Duration: 3-month contract

Pay Rate: $35-40/hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in updating and designing new onboarding modules for Field Pro Sales associates.
• Develop eLearning materials, video content, and job aids to enhance the onboarding experience.
• Script and storyboard video content to ensure clarity and engagement.
• Meet with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather detailed information and insights.
• Potentially shadow a field associate for a day to gain practical understanding and insights.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the content meets instructional design standards and objectives.
• Manage the end-to-end process of content creation, from initial scripting and storyboarding to final development and implementation.
• Ensure all projects are completed on time and within scope.
• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and planning.
• Employ video editing tools for creating high-quality instructional videos.
• Use Articulate for eLearning development and Workday for managing training content.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, particularly in developing eLearning and video-based content.
• Strong writing and visual design skills, with the ability to create engaging and effective instructional materials.
• Experience in scripting and storyboarding video content.
• Proficiency in Articulate and Workday.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with SMEs and other team members.
• Familiarity with video editing tools and the Microsoft Office Suite.
