VFI seeks an experienced, professional Human Resources Generalist to provide primary HR functions and office support for VFI, LLC. The Human Resources Generalist reports to the company CEO/President.

 

Location: Nationwide - Remote (Headquartered in Haymarket, VA)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, Flexible hours

Travel: 10%


Duties and Responsibilities

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overall Human Resource functions for VFI to include but not limited to:

  • Process onboarding, offboarding, and employee changes
  • Assist with recruiting and job postings
  • Works closely with executive team to develop and execute personnel procedures and policies, and provide guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and ongoing reports for company requirements
  • Administer benefits enrollments, compensation, and employee performance and training programs
  • Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and procedures when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers employee requests, issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and offboarding including data entry in human resources information/management systems (HRIS,HRMS, or HCM) and audits for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with accounting and payroll processing to ensure payroll accuracy, including updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, miscellaneous deductions, and benefits changes
  • Administer SCA (Service Contract Act) employee tracking to ensure government regulations are met and serves as an SCA subject-matter-expert (SME)
  • Maintain compliance with government employment regulations including but not limited to FSLA, EEO-1, FMLA, AAP, OSHA, etc.
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, organizational chart, and contribute to policy development


Required skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Self-starter with ability to stay current with HR topics, issues, and regulations
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS, HRMS, or HCM software and ability to learn new technical systems
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint


Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Certificate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in human resources, business, or related field, or five years of HR experience
  • Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of national laws and regulations related to employment
  • Knowledge of SCA contracts
