We are looking for an experienced Head of Agentic Payments to join an established, global payments business as the first owner of a brand-new division.

This is a product leadership and general management role, ideal for someone who knows regulated money movement inside out, enjoys building partnerships with major platforms, and is passionate about defining how AI agents will pay and get paid.

You will be responsible for owning the product definition end to end, taking a live pilot with a major agentic marketplace through to launch, and building the partnership pipeline that turns one client build into a business.

Working closely with compliance, legal, treasury, finance and engineering, you will act as the single accountable owner of the line while also representing the business across the emerging agentic payments ecosystem and standards bodies.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Agentic Payments:

• Own the product definition end to end: issuance, authorisation, settlement, payout, returns and disputes.
• Drive a platform-agnostic architecture so every new partner is an integration, not a rebuild.
• Own the dispute rulebook, evidence and mandate model, and the terms-of-service positions behind them.
• Define the payout tiering model across domestic ACH, local schemes such as SEPA, and cross-border, including competitive pricing.
• Take the first partner program to launch, closing open commercial, capital and compliance items.
• Own the day-to-day relationship with the partner's product and finance teams.
• Build and qualify a pipeline of agent platforms: AI model providers, agent frameworks, marketplaces and enterprise software.
• Track the protocol layer (AP2, Agentic Commerce Protocol, x402, Model Context Protocol) and decide where to adapt rather than build.
• Represent the business in industry and standards bodies.
• Own the business case — take rate, float, working capital, unit costs — and present the investment story to leadership and the board.
• Build the roadmap from B2B into consumer flows, non-USD currencies and physical goods.
• Build the team plan as the division scales, with headcount expected in year two.

Essential Requirements of the Head of Agentic Payments:

• 10+ years in payments, including substantial time in regulated money movement: stored value, e-money or issuing.
• Has shipped a payments product with a major platform partner end to end, across commercial, compliance and delivery.
• Track record of leading across compliance, legal, treasury and engineering without direct authority, in a regulated environment.
• Fluent in payments economics: take rate, interchange, float, working capital and settlement timing.
• A strong network across payments companies, fintechs and AI companies.
• Clear, precise writer — product definitions, rulebooks and negotiating positions are core to the role.
