Role Description

This is a full-time remote role for a Grant Writer. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching funding opportunities, developing compelling grant proposals, managing grant applications, and overseeing grant reporting processes. The individual will collaborate closely with team members to meet fundraising goals and advance the organization's mission through securing essential funding. Additionally, the role involves maintaining a database of potential grant prospects, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.


Qualifications

  1. Demonstrated expertise in Grant Writing and Proposal Writing.
  2. Familiarity with Grant Administration and processes for managing grant applications and reporting requirements.
  3. Experience conducting Prospect Research to identify and evaluate funding opportunities.
  4. Strong understanding of Fundraising principles and strategies.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and creativity in crafting proposals.
  6. Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet tight deadlines.
  7. Proficiency with grant databases or related software tools.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, English, or a related field is preferred.
  9. Previous experience in nonprofit or philanthropy-focused roles is a plus.


Responsibilities

Identify Funding Opportunities: Research and evaluate potential grants from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources that align with the organization's mission and goals .

Develop and Write Proposals: Write clear, compelling, and well-structured grant proposals, letters of inquiry (LOIs), and concept papers. This includes developing narratives, goals, objectives, evaluation plans, and budgets in collaboration with finance and program teams.

Manage the Full Grant Cycle: Maintain a grants calendar, track deadlines, submit applications on time, and manage post-award reporting requirements. This also includes writing progress reports and ensuring compliance with funder guidelines.

Conduct Research and Build a Knowledge Base: Perform literature reviews, gather demographic data, and maintain a library of reference materials (e.g., key staff bios, data sources, needs assessments) to support strong proposal development.

Collaborate and Coordinate: Work closely with program managers, executive leadership, and finance staff to gather necessary information and data. Build and maintain relationships with funders throughout the application process
