Full‑Stack Software Engineer

A growing engineering team is looking for a driven and collaborative full‑stack product engineer to help scale, improve, and maintain the technical systems that power the business. This role involves building new features, enhancing existing functionality, and ensuring the stability and reliability of core platforms. The engineer will contribute ideas for system improvements, identify opportunities for tech‑driven initiatives, and troubleshoot issues to support a seamless experience for both internal teams and end users.

What You’ll Do

1. Develop new features and enhancements while following best practices and maintaining high code quality
2. Continuously improve technical systems to meet evolving business needs
3. Ensure reliability and performance of internal and external applications through proactive support
4. Propose and implement technology‑driven improvements that create meaningful business impact
5. Diagnose and resolve technical issues to improve system stability and user experience
6. Participate in code reviews and collaborate closely with peers
7. Contribute to a culture of learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing
8. Grow into a subject‑matter expert for a key area of the platform

Qualifications

1. 3+ years of professional full‑stack engineering experience with exposure to web development
2. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as Heroku, Cloudflare, AWS, or similar platforms
3. Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to debug complex technical issues
4. Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset
5. Willingness to learn, share knowledge, and grow with the team
6. Experience with a server‑side language (Ruby on Rails preferred; Python also acceptable)
7. Experience with JavaScript and React
8. Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
9. Understanding of database architecture

Bonus Qualifications

1. Experience with Ruby on Rails
2. Experience with TypeScript
3. Background in performance optimization or scalability
4. Familiarity with CDP platforms such as Segment, Customer.io, or BlueConic
5. Experience in media or journalism environments
