VetRamp is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer to support a long-term Air Force Medical logistics program at Fort Detrick.
This role supports a suite of 50+ operational enterprise web applications used across the Air Force medical enterprise to enable medical logistics, readiness, sustainment, reporting, and healthcare support operations. The environment is a modern Microsoft-based application ecosystem focused on ongoing enhancement, sustainment, modernization, and occasional new application development efforts using React, TypeScript, C#, .NET Framework, and SQL Server technologies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys hands-on coding, problem solving, and improving real-world operational systems within a collaborative Agile environment. Developers regularly move between applications and are expected to quickly understand and contribute to existing codebases across a shared enterprise platform.
The environment is highly development-focused, with developers spending the majority of their time building, enhancing, troubleshooting, and supporting applications rather than sitting in extensive requirements gathering or customer-facing consulting meetings.
Candidates with prior DoD or federal experience — especially those who currently hold or previously held a clearance or Public Trust investigation — are highly desired.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, enhance, debug, maintain, and occasionally build enterprise web applications supporting Air Force medical operations
- Build modern front-end functionality using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Develop and maintain backend services, APIs, and database interactions using C# and .NET Framework technologies
- Support application modernization and enhancement efforts across a large shared suite of operational systems
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and relational database components
- Troubleshoot application issues and support production sustainment activities
- Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and team collaboration
- Participate in peer code reviews and shared GitHub repository workflows supporting collaborative development practices
- Work within an established application framework and development lifecycle using Git/GitHub, Visual Studio, and VS Code tooling
- Support role-based security, authentication, and secure application development practices
- Work both independently and collaboratively across multiple applications within a small, highly collaborative development team
- Support and enhance applications originally developed by other team members as operational priorities shift
