Job Description
We are seeking a Front-End Infrastructure / CAD Staff Engineer to join Samsung FE Infrastructure/CAD team. This role requires deep expertise in front-end verification flows, EDA tools, and regression infrastructure. You will play a critical role in designing scalable verification environments and solving complex challenges in semiconductor design verification.
Key Responsibilities
- Verification Flow Development & Maintenanc
- Design, implement, and optimize scalable and efficient front-end verification flows
- Continuously improve robustness, performance, and automation of verification infrastructure
- Maintain and enhance flow-based regression systems
- Regression Management & Triage
- Lead regression management and triage processes
- Debug regression failures, coverage issues, and flow instabilities
- Ensure high reliability and continuity of verification cycles
- EDA Tool & Vendor Collaboration
- Serve as primary point of contact for Synopsys VCS-related issues
- Troubleshoot complex tool problems and drive resolution
- Collaborate closely with EDA vendors (e.g., Synopsys) to improve tool performance and support
- RTL Architecture Tool Deployment
- Deploy and support RTL architecture tools
- Ensure seamless integration with FE verification flows
- Provide ongoing tool support and enhancements
- Version Control & Workflow Optimization
- Manage and optimize workflows using Git, Perforce, and Git-P4
- Support version control strategies for large-scale design environments
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 8+ years OR PhD with 6+ years
- Strong experience in:
- Front-End (FE) Design Verification flows and CAD infrastructure
- Regression management and debugging (coverage, failures, flow issues)
- Synopsys VCS, IES, and RTL architecture tools
- xprop configuration (VCS/IES)
- Advanced expertise in:
- Version control systems (Git, Perforce, Git-P4)
- Debugging complex verification environments
- Proven ability to:
- Work directly with EDA vendors to resolve technical issues
- Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Independently drive problem-solving in complex systems
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting large-scale, high-performance semiconductor projects
- Strong scripting or automation skills (Python, Perl, or similar)
- Experience improving verification efficiency and scalability
