Job Description

We are seeking a Front-End Infrastructure / CAD Staff Engineer to join Samsung FE Infrastructure/CAD team. This role requires deep expertise in front-end verification flows, EDA tools, and regression infrastructure. You will play a critical role in designing scalable verification environments and solving complex challenges in semiconductor design verification.

Key Responsibilities

1. Verification Flow Development & Maintenanc
2. Design, implement, and optimize scalable and efficient front-end verification flows
3. Continuously improve robustness, performance, and automation of verification infrastructure
4. Maintain and enhance flow-based regression systems
5. Regression Management & Triage
6. Lead regression management and triage processes
7. Debug regression failures, coverage issues, and flow instabilities
8. Ensure high reliability and continuity of verification cycles
9. EDA Tool & Vendor Collaboration
10. Serve as primary point of contact for Synopsys VCS-related issues
11. Troubleshoot complex tool problems and drive resolution
12. Collaborate closely with EDA vendors (e.g., Synopsys) to improve tool performance and support
13. RTL Architecture Tool Deployment
14. Deploy and support RTL architecture tools
15. Ensure seamless integration with FE verification flows
16. Provide ongoing tool support and enhancements
17. Version Control & Workflow Optimization
18. Manage and optimize workflows using Git, Perforce, and Git-P4
19. Support version control strategies for large-scale design environments

Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 8+ years OR PhD with 6+ years
2. Strong experience in:
3. Front-End (FE) Design Verification flows and CAD infrastructure
4. Regression management and debugging (coverage, failures, flow issues)
5. Synopsys VCS, IES, and RTL architecture tools
6. xprop configuration (VCS/IES)
7. Advanced expertise in:
8. Version control systems (Git, Perforce, Git-P4)
9. Debugging complex verification environments
10. Proven ability to:
11. Work directly with EDA vendors to resolve technical issues
12. Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams
13. Independently drive problem-solving in complex systems
14. Preferred Qualifications:
15. Experience supporting large-scale, high-performance semiconductor projects
16. Strong scripting or automation skills (Python, Perl, or similar)
17. Experience improving verification efficiency and scalability
