Frontend Engineer / Remote (USA)

A pioneering company in the space technology sector is seeking a talented Frontend Engineer to join their innovative team. This company is revolutionizing spacecraft operations by building cutting-edge software that allows users to design, test, and operate satellites with ease. Whether it's capturing satellite imagery, enabling broadband/cellular services, or docking with other satellites, your work will directly influence mission-critical operations.

The Role

As a Frontend Engineer, you will be challenged to design and implement a user interface that requires minimal training and allows users to complete tasks in two clicks or less. You’ll work alongside another frontend developer, collaborating daily in an Agile Scrum environment with backend and platform developers. Your work will be front and centre, potentially displayed on the giant screens in mission control centres, guiding real-time satellite operations.

What You’ll Do:

1. Simplify complex user workflows by designing and implementing a frontend that requires minimal training.
2. Create reusable React components in TypeScript and Javascript to ensure consistency and efficiency.
3. Utilize React frameworks like Next.js and UI libraries
4. Manage version control using Git/GitHub and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
5. Utilize AWS services, including ECS (Docker) and CloudWatch, to ensure reliable deployment and monitoring.
6. Work with test frameworks like Jest or Mocha to maintain high software quality.

What You’ll Need

1. Must hold an active Secret or TS/SCI Clearance
2. Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or eligible for required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
3. Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
4. Experience: 2+ years of professional experience in frontend development, or a self-starter with a strong technical skill set and a passion for building products. If you have worked on Geospatial Mapping products this will be a bonus.
