Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Front-End Engineer (AI-First) for a fast-growing, venture-backed technology company building innovative, AI-driven enterprise software solutions. This is an onsite opportunity in Flatiron District (NYC).


POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Front-End Engineer will own the user-facing product experience, building high-quality, scalable interfaces that transform complex workflows into intuitive applications. This role partners closely with product and design to deliver polished, user-friendly features in a fast-paced, startup environment. The ideal candidate has strong front-end expertise and hands-on experience leveraging AI tools within development workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Build responsive, accessible, and scalable user interfaces using React, Next.js, and TypeScript
  2. Develop and maintain component libraries and design systems for consistency across the product
  3. Integrate front-end applications with backend APIs (REST, GraphQL)
  4. Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Copilot) to improve productivity and code quality
  5. Collaborate with product and design teams to translate wireframes into production-ready features
  6. Optimize performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility


QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Minimum 4+ years of experience in front-end engineering using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js, TypeScript)
  2. Hands-on experience using AI-assisted tools and workflows (e.g., code generation, testing, or workflow automation)
  3. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS (or CSS-in-JS), and responsive design principles
  4. Experience integrating APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) and working with backend teams
  5. Background in SaaS / platform environments required
  6. Detail-oriented with high UI/UX standards who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.
  7. Experience building scalable, high-quality user interfaces.
  8. Familiarity with Git, testing practices, and CI/CD workflows
