Overview

Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eager to learn Veeco’s technology and drive customer satisfaction through excellence of support. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, metrology equipment repairs and general upkeep of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

• This position is for the Taylor, Texas area and may involve periodic domestic and possibly international travel.

Responsibilities

• Participation in the installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, will be according to Veeco and customer protocols related to safety and security of Intellectual Property
• Isolate and resolve equipment malfunctions
• Assist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designs
• Develop relationships with the customer to ensure highest customer satisfaction
• Serve as contact for onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the upkeep of equipment
• Report all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reports
• Adhere to safety and confidentiality policies

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of annealing or similar semiconductor process equipment preferred
• Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers
• Knowledge of machine software systems, electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer programming.
• System integration, test, and debug skills
• Experience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environment protocol
• Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems
• Ability to make priority decisions in the resolution of problems to best serve the customer’s business needs
• Ability to build excellent customer relationships emphasizing strong focus on honesty, integrity and transparency in all interactions
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environment
• Must be flexible for emergency call-in work
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Ability to travel ~15% of the time after the initial training period
• Ability to travel for the first 3-5 months, 50-75% occasionally on short notice; requires domestic/international travel for installation and support

The expected salary range for this position is $52,903- $67,011.10 + bonus + benefits. When determining your pay, we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
