This position is responsible for overseeing all fiber work, supervising associated personnel, developing new fiber splicing business, and growing the fiber splicing team.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervises and directs the actions of employees assigned to fiber splicing work.
- Reviews employee timesheets and submits to the payroll department once approved.
- Visits job site locations to provide guidance and instruction to employees ensuring splicing tasks are completed correctly and safely.
- Monitors the efficiency of our current fiber technicians while continuing to develop additional fiber splicing crews.
Core Job Responsibilities
- Works with existing customers to sustain lasting business relationships.
- Finds new business opportunities.
- Grows the fiber splicing team.
- Reviews and uploads test results into online systems once splicing jobs are complete.
- Communicates with Frontier inspectors regarding job changes, print discrepancies, and/or other issues involving the scope of work.
- Utilizes online systems to pull permits, redlines, and to reports job completions.
- Communicates with subcontractors to ensure fiber splicing jobs are completed on schedule and in accordance with company quality assurance standards.
- Receives, reviews and processes billing submitted by subcontractors.
- Monitors the use of company fiber splicing equipment including scheduling equipment repair and purchasing replacement equipment when necessary.
- Works with other employees at various levels of the company to ensure a smooth transfer of information and documentation between workgroups.

Required Qualifications

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) The ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
- The ability to use basic office equipment (e.g. phones, copiers, scanners, uploading documents, etc.)
- 10-15 years of splicing experience.
- 5 years supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with Varasset software.
- Familiarity with single-source provider (SSP) contracts.
Physical Requirements
- Able to sit for extended periods of time at a desk and view a computer monitor.
- Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Able to remain seated and drive for extended periods of time; to maneuver around all areas of the job site and visually inspect the work at each location.
- Able to lift 50 pounds to chest height and able to move and bend with this weight.
Work Environment
This job operates in a mixture of a professional office and field environment. In the office, this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. When conducting outside field work, industry standard conditions apply that require the use of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Expected Hours of Work
Due to the nature of our business, there will be occasions requiring working after normal business hours, which may include nights and/or weekends.
