What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming’s Power business continues to expand which translates into significant professional opportunities for Entry Level Transmission Engineers to play a significant role in our continued growth! You will have the opportunity to be mentored by a team of nationally recognized project managers and senior technical staff in the Power industry. This is a hybrid position with the prospect of being located in either our Phoenix, AZ or Charlotte, NC offices.

The growth and diversification of the Power Business Line is a top initiative, on both a regional and national scale. As an Entry Level Transmission Line Engieer you will provide support on transmission line project designs. Our clients include investor owned utilities, renewable energy developers, and large industrial clients. This diverse portfolio of clients means you will participate in projects of varying size and scope.

Role

From substations to wind farms, solar energy facilities, and battery storage facilities. If you are interested in the energy and power markets, in this role you will have the chance to tap into that curiosity, while providing innovative solutions to our clients, while also growing your knowledge and capabilities. As an entry level engineer, you will be expected to:
 

• Assist in the development of detailed construction drawings for both underground and overhead transmission lines based on client and industry standards.
• Perform site visits and inspections during design and construction phases to verify design intent and to ensure installation is in accordance with approved design.
• Coordinate with internal and external resources to develop detailed designs and attend regularly scheduled meetings to provide update on the status of the design.
• Perform detailed calculations to support the design and create reports to clearly express those calculations.
   

Education | Experience:

Minimum Qualifications
 

• Bachelor's degree in either Civil, Structural or Electrical Engineering
• Engineer in Training (EIT) is strongly preferred
• Familiarity or an interest in learning PLS-CADD or other structural design software package is strongly preferred
• 0-3 years of experience and an interest in the power delivery industry
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Autodesk (AutoCAD & AutoCAD Civil 3D) is preferred but not required
• Capable of reading and reviewing design drawings
