Job Description:

The Entry-Level SEO Specialist will assist in optimizing website content, metadata, and structure to improve search engine visibility and organic rankings. They may also specialize in building high-quality backlinks and maintaining accurate citations across dozens of directory websites. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The Entry-Level SEO Specialist will have the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of SEO while contributing to the overall success of the company's online visibility and organic traffic growth.

We are hiring (100% remote) in the following states: AL, AK, AZ, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, MI, MN, MO, NC, NE, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, SD, TX and VA.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Optimizing Organic Traffic: Analyzing and optimizing organic traffic by tracking trends, patterns, and fluctuations using analytics tools
  • Keyword Rankings: Monitoring and tracking keyword rankings on search engine results pages to identify opportunities for optimization
  • Backlink Profile: Assessing the quality and quantity of backlinks pointing to the website to enhance link-building efforts
  • Local Listings: Ensuring clients are listed on important directory websites to improve visibility and credibility
  • On-Page Optimization: Evaluating on-page optimization factors such as meta tags, title tags, and URL structures to comply with SEO best practices
  • Conversion Rate: Monitoring and analyzing conversion rates of organic search traffic to enhance user experience and optimize conversion pathways.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Basic SEO Knowledge: Should have a foundational understanding of SEO principles and techniques, including on-page optimization, keyword research, backlink building, and website analytics. Should have basic familiarity with SEO tools and have the ability to conduct basic keyword research and on-page optimization tasks.
  • Analytical Skills: Should possess basic analytical skills to interpret website analytics, keyword rankings, and other SEO performance metrics. Should be able to identify trends, spot opportunities, and provide insights to support optimization strategies.
  • Attention to Detail: Should have strong attention to detail. Ability to carefully review and optimize website content, metadata, and other on-page elements to ensure accuracy and alignment with SEO best practices.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills are necessary to collaborate with team members and communicate findings and recommendations. Should be able to clearly and concisely report on SEO performance, share insights and recommendations, and contribute to discussions and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Basic Technical Skills: Should possess basic technical skills. This includes understanding basic HTML and CSS coding, website structure, URL structures, and website architecture. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and website analytics tools is also beneficial.
  • Curiosity and Willingness to Learn: Should have a passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest SEO trends and industry changes. Should be proactive in seeking out new opportunities and approaches to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 6 months+ of relevant experience in SEO practices
  • AS or BS in related field is highly preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk or computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
