As Gannett Fleming continues to grow and expand, we are looking for a highly motivated Bridge Designer / Engineer to join our team in our Denver, CO, or in Los Angeles, CA. We rely on our bridge designers to perform bridge design and inspection activities on various projects and to deliver high quality results for our clients. Candidates must possess a “can do” attitude and strong team building skills.

 

As a Bridge Designer, you are an integral part of our team and will develop the skills needed for a successful career in Structural Engineering at Gannett Fleming.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Assist with the preparation of plans required for the construction of bridges
• Perform bridge inspections (including overnight travel)
• Detail and prepare quantities for concrete reinforcing
• Perform engineering design tasks for projects from preliminary to final design
• Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages
• Prepare reports required by the project development
• Complete tasks with multi-disciplined teams and interact with staff locally and throughout the company.

 

Education | Experience:

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures
• Between 0-2 years of experience in design of bridge engineering projects
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Knowledge of and experience using CADD/Design Software (MicroStation preferred)
• Knowledge of and experience using MS Excel and Word (experience with macros is desirable)
• Strong verbal and oral communication skills
• Familiarity with AASHTO and/or AREMA Bridge Design standards preferred
• Willingness to perform bridge inspections.
