2. About the Opportunity: The Engineer, Backend role is focused on developing partner-facing APIs and backend systems to power automation and integrations within partner platforms. This position plays a key role in scaling and improving the platform’s reliability, enhancing developer tools and documentation, and ensuring seamless integration across teams. The role contributes to expanding the ecosystem by enabling partners to build native automation experiences without reinventing workflow infrastructure.

3. Responsibilities:

1. Design and build new partner-facing APIs for automation and integration
2. Expand and improve the partner automation platform for reliability and scalability
3. Enhance developer tools and documentation for smooth onboarding and implementation
4. Ensure systems are ergonomic and scalable for internal and external users
5. Collaborate with Platform, Infrastructure, and Product Engineering teams
6. Lead technical initiatives, mentor teammates, and contribute to architectural decisions

4. Requirements:

1. Experience building and maintaining APIs, gateways, and integration points in production
2. Proficiency in Python, with strong experience in Django and preferably Django REST Framework
3. Knowledge of authentication methods such as OAuth, API keys, and JWTs
4. Ability to design systems for performance, resilience, and maintainability
5. Strong focus on developer experience and usability
6. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams
7. Ability to communicate clearly in writing and work autonomously in a remote, asynchronous environment
8. Comfort with ambiguity and evolving tools and practices as the platform grows

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with OpenAPI specifications and SDK generation pipelines
2. Familiarity with AI-powered development tools or interest in AI-enhanced automation
3. Experience with partner ecosystems or developer platforms
4. Front-end experience with React and Next.js
