The Legal Technology Analyst will report to the Legal Technology Manager and Director of Legal Technology and collaborate with other members of the Legal Technology Team and the eMerge group. The Legal Technology Analyst will be responsible for supporting firm lawyers and clients with technical and organization aspects of data management, compliance, privacy, and discovery obligations specifically related to the firm’s advisory services on these issues.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
 

  • Assists attorneys and senior technology team members with providing advice, analysis, and products related to our client’s management and use of data with emphasis on compliance, privacy and discovery obligations
  • Assures completion of project management tasks associated with managing advisory services and products including: draft documentation, coordinate project activities, create project plans and tasks; organize client information, and other related tasks
  • Analyzes client data in furtherance of our advisory services including merging, querying, and comparing data from multiple sources
  • Drafts reports, memos, guides and checklists as needed in support of our advisory services
  • Communicates with clients to coordinate projects, maintain relationships, and ensure that services provided are meeting their needs
  • Provides application support and troubleshooting assistance to users
  • Provides training, support and technical assistance with applications provided
  • Documents and maintains activities in project management database including time spent on projects, submitting tasks, and completing tasks
  • Collects data from clients using appropriate technology and processes
  • Appropriately handles data and documents received including maintaining tracking logs for data received and loaded, chain of custody and an inventory of Media received for each project
  • Cross trains and maintains proficiency in other functional areas and positions at eMerge to provide support and coverage when needed
     

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
 

  • Positive “can do” attitude along with aptitude for learning complex technical information, and curiosity to learn about and solve issues;
  • Self starter and willing to take initiative to seek out opportunities for improvement and efficiency;
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
     

Education And/or Experience
 

  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant technical degree preferred; a combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
  • Prior education and work experience in computer technology, information systems, compliance, information governance, data privacy, or eDiscovery beneficial
