POSITION PROFILE:
High Style Deco, one of New York’s premier sources for 20th Century furniture, lighting, art and accessories seeks to fill a position on our support team. The Electrician/Handyman works in the gallery in multiple capacities. Excellent organizational skills and experience as an electrician and general handyman are a must for this vital role in High Style Deco’s fast-paced operation.

This role will work closely with the gallery owner, sales staff, and senior electrician and inventory manager to execute a wide range of duties. They have a unique balance of technical know-how mixed with a can-do attitude and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role reports to and works in direct concert with the gallery owner, sales staff and inventory manager. The candidate is a self-starting, independent worker seeking to join a friendly work atmosphere.

Electrician & Handyman

• Install lighting fixtures and fine art
• Repair, refurbish and rewire vintage and new custom lighting fixtures
• Assemble and disassemble high-end fixtures and furniture
• Miscellaneous tasks as needed

SKILLS

• Ability to disassemble, clean, rewire and reassemble new/vintage lighting
• Proven general handyman experience
• Experience with hardware tools and electrical equipment
• Electrical knowledge and capabilities
• Good communication abilities
• Shipping and receiving experience a plus
• Organizational talent with an attention to detail
• Problem solver

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have Experience in a Vintage Gallery electrician/handyman setting.
• Organized Work and Interpersonal Communication Styles
• Friendly and Energetic Personality
• Able to lift inventory
• Preferred experience with vintage lighting/furniture in a gallery setting
• Polished Appearance to Fit a High-End Gallery Environment

Pay: $25.00 per hour
