We are seeking an experienced Drupal Web Developer / Web Designer to design, build, maintain, and enhance web pages, websites, and digital platforms using modern web technologies and the latest versions of Drupal, including Drupal 9, Drupal 10, and Drupal 11.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience designing user interfaces, building responsive web pages, developing Drupal themes and modules, improving user experience, and supporting secure, scalable, accessible, and high-performing websites. This role requires strong technical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to collaborate with designers, content teams, product owners, stakeholders, and IT leadership.

Responsibilities

1. Design and build web pages using a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
2. Design and develop user interface features, site animation, and special-effects elements.
3. Contribute to design efforts that enhance the look, feel, usability, and accessibility of the organization’s online offerings.
4. Design websites that support organizational strategies and goals related to external communications.
5. Develop, configure, and maintain websites using the latest versions of Drupal, including Drupal 9, Drupal 10, and Drupal 11.
6. Build custom Drupal modules, themes, templates, and integrations following Drupal best practices.
7. Implement and maintain content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, menus, permissions, and editorial workflows.
8. Ensure code quality through version control, peer reviews, Drupal coding standards, PSR-4 standards, Composer workflows, and modern development practices.
9. Perform Drupal core updates, contributed module updates, security patches, and compatibility upgrades.
10. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, performance problems, browser compatibility issues, and production defects.
11. Optimize websites for speed, mobile responsiveness, accessibility, SEO, usability, and performance.
12. Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems using REST, APIs, GraphQL, SSO, CRM platforms, payment gateways, or related technologies.
13. Support cloud-hosted Drupal environments such as Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Azure.
14. Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment workflows, and release management processes.
15. Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement modern, user-friendly, accessible interfaces.
16. Partner with content editors and business users to improve workflows, permissions, content management, and publishing processes.
17. Participate in Agile/Scrum activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
18. Maintain documentation for configurations, custom code, integrations, deployment processes, and technical procedures.
19. Provide technical guidance, recommendations, and status updates to stakeholders, project teams, and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
2. 20 years of education and/or equivalent IT-related experience.
3. 16+ years of experience designing user interfaces and building web pages.
4. 16+ years of HTML and CSS experience.
5. 16+ years of experience with web design conventions, user experience, and web standards.
6. 16+ years of experience with web optimization and web development best practices.
7. 10+ years of strong problem-solving and analytical experience.
8. 10+ years of experience with headless or decoupled Drupal architectures.
9. 10+ years of familiarity with React, Vue, or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
10. 10+ years of experience building custom Drupal modules, themes, and integrations following Drupal best practices.
11. 10+ years of experience developing, configuring, and maintaining websites using Drupal, including Drupal 9, Drupal 10, and/or Drupal 11.
12. 10+ years of experience implementing and maintaining content types, views, taxonomies, blocks, and menus.
13. 10+ years of experience ensuring code quality through version control, peer reviews, coding standards, Drupal Coding Standards, PSR-4, and Composer workflows.
14. Strong proficiency with PHP, Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design.
15. Experience with Composer, Drush, Git, and modern development workflows.
16. Knowledge of MySQL, MariaDB, database design, and database optimization.
17. Experience with cloud hosting platforms such as Acquia, Pantheon, AWS, or Azure.
18. Knowledge of web accessibility standards, including WCAG 2.1 or higher.
19. Understanding of web security best practices, performance optimization, and SEO fundamentals.

Highly Desired Qualifications

1. 10+ years of experience with Docker or containerized development environments.
2. Acquia Drupal Developer or Acquia Site Builder certification.
3. 10+ years of experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
