The Impact you will have:   

 You will play a key role in creating and maintaining Drupal websites that serve municipalities and their communities. You will transform design mock-ups into responsive, accessible, and user-friendly websites while ensuring performance, cross-browser compatibility, and seamless integration with Drupal’s back-end. Your work will directly impact how citizens interact with municipal services online, helping deliver a modern and reliable digital experience. 

What you will be doing:

1. Convert design mock-ups or wireframes into Drupal themes by writing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for front-end components and layouts. 
2. Work with Drupal’s theme layer and template system to integrate front-end code with back-end functionality, creating or modifying templates, preprocess functions, and theme settings. 
3. Ensure responsive design using CSS media queries and techniques for an optimal experience on all devices. 
4. Ensure cross-browser compatibility through testing, troubleshooting, and applying fixes. 
5. Optimize front-end code and assets for performance using minification, compression, image optimization, and caching strategies. 
6. Collaborate with web designers and back-end developers to translate requirements into functional, user-friendly front-end elements. 
7. Test front-end components for bugs, usability, accessibility, and browser compatibility, addressing issues promptly. 
8. Use Git for version control, manage code repositories, track changes, and support deployment to staging/production environments. 
9. Stay current with web development trends, tools, and best practices, including participation in the Drupal community.

The tools you bring:

1. 3+ years of experience with UI/UX and front-end web development 
2. Familiarity with common front-end development languages including SASS and Twig 
3. Knowledge of web accessibility standards and best practices (WCAG 2) 
4. Experience with Content Management Systems such as Drupal 
5. Proficiencies with front-end development languages including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript and tools including Git, npm, and Grunt 
6. A portfolio that demonstrates the understanding of how end users interact with simple websites 
7. Experience with wireframing and design mock-up tools such as Figma
