AM Logistics Inc. is focused on developing innovative options and solutions for all of our customers’ needs. We are based in Indianapolis on the Southwest side. We are a growing company and are looking to add a new full-time motivated dispatcher to our team.

Requirements for this position

• Must have a minimum of 1 Year of previous dispatching experience with a fleet of 5 or more trucks.
• Must have great customer service skills.
• Must have prior working experience using TMS dispatching software ex.Dispatch Track, Pallet.
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks and communicate effectively and simultaneously in high pressure situations.
• Must be a GREAT communicator between warehouse, drivers, customers, coworkers, vendors, and management at ALL times.
• Must have exceptional computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and operate in multiple forms of customer-based scheduling and tracking software.
• Must have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Must be able to monitor and respond within multiple email accounts quickly and efficiently.
• Must be willing to do warehouse dock checks and verify loading procedures for morning load outs.
• Knowledge of linehaul carriers Forward Air, Midwest Express, Accelerated etc.
• Familiar with ACI guide and Cartage A, B, C, D etc. areas.
• Must be able to dim and reweigh freight.
• Prior Forklift experience helpful
• Flexibility in start and end times based on daily needs.
• Geographical and road knowledge of Indianapolis and Central Indiana areas.

How You’ll Perform the Role

Employee Safety is our # 1 goal.

Ensure recoveries, pickups and deliveries are properly routed, scheduled, and prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner.

Create driver schedules daily to meet customer demand while keeping within DOT HOS rules and regulations.

Verify freight is properly loaded and labeled.

Book outbound freight via Forward Air, Midwest Express, Domestic and Intl Air Carriers

Monitor routes and communicate with drivers consistently throughout the day.

Monitor and communicate with customers, vendors, network offices and other employees via email and phone.

Knowledge of how to quote different types of logistical solutions. Dedicated vans, Straight trucks, FTL, LTL.

Maintain, monitor and optimize truck, fuel and labor costs per route.

Complete other tasks as needed, which may include dim and reweigh of freight.

Work with team members to maintain an organized warehouse.

Rotating weekend and Holiday on call with bonus compensation
