The Growth & Development team (what we call People Learning & Development at Stitch Fix) is a part of the broader Equity, Culture, and People Development Team comprised of DEI, Learning & Development and HR Business Partner professionals.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director of Growth & Development (G&D), you will be the People and Culture (P&C) leader who creates the strategy and foundation to support the performance and development of all internal employees at Stitch Fix. This includes leading a team of seven that is responsible for onboarding, functional job training, development, talent management, and manager/team effectiveness across all geographies and job families in the organization. In this role you will have the ability to build from scratch, improve and scale, influence at the C-team level, and create learning and talent mechanisms that enhance the employee experience.

This position is open to U.S. remote candidates and will report directly to Stitch Fix’s VP of Equity, Culture, and People Development (ECPD).

Set your team up to thrive. Lead a nimble Growth & Development team bringing the best out of every team member and creating a culture of inclusion, high-performance, people development, innovation, and collaboration. Set clear vision and determine the highest impact priorities and manage your resources (people and budget) to deliver against those priorities.
Utilize people data and work directly with teams within and outside of P&C to continually assess the state of Stitch Fix’s talent across functions in order to design/implement G&D strategies that allow people to do their best work. This includes continuing to institutionalize centralized approaches to talent management (e.g. talent review, promotions), ongoing learning and development programs, and manager effectiveness - all grounded in a clear talent philosophy that centers equity.
Leverage existing technology (LMS, 15Five, Udemy, Jhana) and change management best practices to shift the organization towards a self-service learning model. Partner with People Ops to create reporting tools to drive adoption, empower managers, and establish a culture of consultancy within G&D.

Have experience setting vision, direction, and priorities for a team.
Have directly managed people in both L&D and Talent Management capacities.
Bring experience building from scratch, scaling existing programs, as well as driving analysis and incremental process improvements.
Have a proven track record influencing stakeholders across distinct functions, up through influencing VPs/C-suite leaders.
Have led cross functional projects in a matrixed environment. Able to determine where to maintain consistency versus where to allow for nuance based on location or specialization.
Have progressive experience in People and Culture, including achieving results by working across verticals (e.g. Business Partners, Diversity Equity & Inclusion,, recruiting, finance, compensation, legal).
Consistently leverage qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and process improvements. Experienced in determining and using metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of talent/learning programs.
Bring specific experience developing effective learning approaches across modalities for a distributed workforce (in person, virtual, e-learning).
Candidates with these skills often have 8+ years of relevant experience, but depth of skill and role related competence is prioritized over years of experience.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance.
