We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Public Relations to lead our internal and external communications efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, crisis communication, and a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in which our products operate. They will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to enhance our brand reputation and navigate regulatory challenges.

Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay abreast of industry regulations affecting our products.
• Collaborate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure all communications comply with relevant guidelines.

Strategic Planning:

• Develop and execute comprehensive PR and communications strategies that span various time horizons.
• Align PR initiatives with overall business objectives.

Crisis Communication:

• Lead crisis communication efforts related to regulatory issues.
• Develop and maintain crisis communication plans.

Media Relations:

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets.
• Proactively write press releases, pitch stories and respond to media inquiries.

Internal Communication:

• Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging.
• Provide communication training to employees on regulatory matters.

Brand Reputation Management:

• Monitor and manage the company's reputation in relation to regulatory issues.
• Implement strategies to enhance positive public perception.

Event Management:

• Oversee the planning and execution of events related to regulated products.
• Ensure events align with communication objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• 7+ years of experience in public relations, with a focus on consumer-packaged goods; regulated products experience highly preferred
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in crisis communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
