Our client, a children’s apparel brand, is seeking a Graphic Art Director to join their New York City based team! The ideal candidate brings together creative vision, hands-on technical expertise, and team leadership, thriving in a fast-moving, high-volume environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Partner with Senior Design to define seasonal graphic direction, color stories, and art vision.
2. Translate product strategy into cohesive graphic programs with Apparel Design.
3. Drive innovation across techniques, execution, and AI tools.
4. Review and elevate artwork from internal teams, freelancers, and vendors.
5. Lead creation of placement prints, repeats, typography, and novelty graphics.
6. Collaborate cross-functionally to meet cost, margin, and delivery goals.
7. Ensure artwork is factory-ready and aligned with production capabilities.
8. Deliver clean files with clear specs for color, scale, and execution.
9. Partner with overseas vendors to resolve issues and maintain quality.
10. Own graphic timelines and workflows for high-volume assortments.
11. Streamline art intake, priorities, and deadlines.
12. Ensure on-time delivery of colorways and production-ready files.
13. Lead and mentor graphic and production teams.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
2. 7-10+ years of relevant experience
3. Expert photoshop and illustrator skills
4. Strong understanding of screen printing
5. Creative sketching skills
6. Strong sense of color
7. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
8. Proactive team player with strong initiative
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
