  • Gross weekly $3168 (36 hours/wk) = ($1080/wk non-taxable/stipend + $2088wk taxable pay

Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive environmental services strategy aligned with the hospital's mission and goals.
  • Identify and evaluate environmental risks and opportunities, and propose strategies for improvement. Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental objectives.

Policies and Procedures:

  • Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and protocols related to environmental cleanliness, infection control, waste management, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry best practices.
  • Regularly review and update policies and procedures to reflect changing regulations and advancements in environmental services.

Staff Management and Training:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise environmental services staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and employee engagement.

Environmental Cleanliness:

  • Develop and implement cleaning protocols and schedules to maintain a clean and sanitary environment throughout the hospital.
  • Oversee the proper use of cleaning agents, disinfectants, and equipment to ensure effective cleaning and infection control.
  • Monitor cleanliness standards and conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement.

Waste Management:

  • Develop and implement waste management procedures in accordance with local regulations and environmental sustainability principles.
  • Coordinate the collection, storage, transportation, and disposal of various types of waste, including medical waste, hazardous materials, and general waste.
  • Ensure staff is trained on proper waste handling techniques and regulatory requirements.

Safety and Emergency Preparedness:

  • Collaborate with the hospital's safety and emergency management teams to develop and implement protocols for emergency response and disaster preparedness.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other relevant safety regulations.

Budgeting and Resource Management:

  • Develop and manage the department's budget, including forecasting expenses and monitoring financial performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality and safety. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other resources, ensuring their availability and proper utilization.
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment. Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
